Potential demolition of Ayr station hotel, trend of poor maintenance of historic buildings in Ayr

Concerns that decisions about the iconic Ayr station hotel, which has been left rotting for several years, are being rushed through by South Ayrshire Council -https://www.savebritainsheritage.org/campaigns/item/706/PRESS-RELEASE-Ayr-becoming-a-city-of-holes?fbclid=IwAR0dEfJcGpQbPfhoCvs_hr2LUyJ7lU-fNb9T12skJaRb7eH1MPyIyRw4KN0
Campaigners have criticised the recently feasibility study published by Atkins https://www.facebook.com/groups/482105729640079/permalink/482164609634191/
and claim that the building's condition has been worsened by Council mismanagement.
Follows on from issues with other nearby buildings including Belleisle (which is now back in council ownership after a fire, https://www.ayradvertiser.com/news/17726837.belleisle-owner-slams-council-delays-fire-ravaged-house/; https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/125-million-plans-rebuild-historic-22663051) and one of the high street https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/demolition-historic-building-gets-go-22730288
