Loch Lomond peasants or plebs - it feels like thisDo you know SEPA our protection agency has backed down on highlighting alarming rise in phosphorus levels in Loch Lomond water - your drinking water if you stay in central Scotland, or English midlands . The Scottish government has changed acceptible levels of P in sewage outflow , we now have much dirtier water than the rest of UK . Who will grandstand at COP26 conferance , 20 miles away in Glasgow next spring? Our protectors ? I dont think!! exscuse spelling I am old.

Loch Lomond peasants or plebs - it feels like thisHunter Foundation development plan has now been rail roaded through LLTNPA planning committee with blatant contempt for local objections . 2 hours for pro lobby ,for Tom: 2 five minute slots for local objectors ,Mr MacLellan and Mr Page . None of their concerns were addressed , except a Park official was asked why the osprey was not mentioned in their report - - she hummed and hawed then answered it had only turned up during lockdown! They have RSPB on their side BUT do not know we have had them here for years , and more than 2 breeding pairs . The hen harriers were not even mentioned ,no doubt RSPB are not aware of their presence BUT small family farmers are , they know their ground , and are real custodians of wild life .many examples can be given . Please help to over turn this undemocratic decision and help us SAVE OUR ABER SHORE .Thank You.

Nick MacIneskarYou have highlighted a really damning aspect of government priorities. Environmental degradation always takes a back seat (and is usually ignored) when it comes to any kind of development in Scotland. One only has to look at the millions of trees removed to build wind farms (does that make any kind of sense?) or huge swathes of peat dug up to realise that politicians here are firmly in the palm of developers. Media have little interest in reporting these issues, so one could be forgiven for thinking that no-one cares enough. I hope The Ferret will seriously consider reporting on this and other unsustainable and damaging developments.
