A bit of a tall order to investigate, but on a world wide scale the acquiring of the constituent components of an electric car's battery( or indeed our mobile phone's battery) is causing severe damage to the environment. Lithium and cobalt mining and sea bed dredging for manganese are well known for the desecration and indeed human misery they cause but do we see any of this being mentioned in the race to drive our shiny new "eco-friendly", poison laden CO2 free cars. Who pays the on the ground costs for our questionable progress ?
